Iron

Published by dancermom at 11:52 am under Uncategorized Edit This

So my pediatrician sent me to get blood work done on Jonah since he is such a picky eater and she was worried that he might be iron deficient. It seemed a tad overly cautious since he is now over 23lbs(!!!) and still nursing. I know some studies show iron deficiency in babies or toddlers who were exclusively breastfed for long periods but I also read that those studies were done in countries where the mothers were not adequately nourished. Regardless, doctor’s orders, so we went. I think my husband and I were more nervous and traumatized than Jonah. I had to lean on his knees to hold him down while he was screaming. Poor guy. I couldn’t believe how much blood they took from a baby. Anyway, we all survived. I should know the results by next week.

The weather has been gorgeous here in Montreal. What a wonderful change to be able to play outside with my baby instead of being cooped up indoors the whole day. It’s so much fun watching him explore.

Hope you all recovered from the blood draw. We have a vaccination scheduled in a week that I am dreading….without needles involved, E screams her head off at the sight of the doctor office:(

Glad to hear the weather is nice. It does a lot for ones mood!
