In-laws

Published by dancermom at 8:30 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

So I am off to Phoenix to see the polish in-laws for TEN days. I have to admit I am not really looking forward to this visit. Let’s just say we have very different views on life and child rearing in general. Not to mention they are still living in the dark ages. I have already gotten too many comments that I carry my son too much and feed him too much. I just don’t know if I’ll be able to survive the whole time with the constant comments and the unwanted, really old fashioned advice. Luckily I haveĀ  a friend from college in the area so I have an escape if I really need it.

I don’t know how often I will be able to update my blog but if I get the chance, I will try. I’m sure I will have a lot to tell. If I can’t then I guess I will fill you all in in 2 weeks.

A bientot!

I love my in-laws, but we don’t have small children. We, my second husband and I, went through the whole “do it my way” bit with in-laws and you do survive it. Just nod and thank them for the advice and do it your way…in the end it all works out. Good luck!

Is there anyone out there who actually likes to spend oodles of time with their in-laws? I always hide in my closet and call my mom when it get to be too much for me. Good luck! Hopefully time will fly!

Try to remember that your child benefits greatly from exposure to other adults and frequent trips outside the home. Look at this as more of a gift you are giving to your son and maybe that will give you the strength to survive the ten days. Stay cool!!
